Job Description
As an Associate in the Cost Management Team, you will be expected to work with an Associate Director or Director to successfully manage and deliver a portfolio of cladding remediation projects providing a comprehensive, accurate, and value-driven service.
The role will cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
General
Lead Cost Management commissions and take responsibility for their successful delivery, specifically in relation to cladding remediation projects.
Undertake the role of the Grant Certifying Officer – responsible for collating financial information and preparing government template cost reports to draw down against funding from the Cladding Safety Scheme
Provide effective support and mentoring to all Cost Consultants and Trainees, helping to develop their skills and performance.
Ensure all team members reporting to you maintain up-to-date, relevant training.
Lead, manage, and motivate a project team of surveyors to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Monitor the commercial performance of the team and its projects, manage delivery against commercial targets, and escalate any issues to the Project Associate Director or Director.
Manage commissions efficiently, ensuring work is completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients and project team members.
Act as the primary point of contact for the company’s clients, both new and existing.
Manage the delivery of cost management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.
Provide a full range of cost management services to the company’s clients.
Maintain a consistent approach in line with company standard requirements and best practice.
Build strong, reciprocal relationships with clients and project team members.
Bring flexibility, creativity, strong presentation skills, and clear communication to every project when working with clients and consultants.
Requirements
Education/Qualifications
Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management
Professionally Qualified – Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS
Knowledge and Experience
8 -10 years proven experience in a consulting environment providing the full spectrum of CM services including Pre Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
Experience of working in a high-pressure environment and working to tight deadlines
Abilities & Skills
A strong commitment to delivering high-quality consulting services to clients.
Understanding of JCT standard forms of contract.
Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value, and risk—not cost in isolation.
Excellent IT skills, including the effective use of digital measurement, cost planning, and tender documentation tools.
Excellent numeracy skills, together with strong verbal and written communication.
A willingness to challenge constructively in a positive and engaging way.
A broad understanding of a range of project types, sizes, and sectors.
Strong relationship management skills.
The ability to build and manage effective relationships, both internally and externally.
A collaborative approach and a strong commitment to ongoing career development and progression.

Business Development & Sector Exposure
Experience of preparing bid submissions and contributing to business development activities.

Experience as an APC supervisor or counsellor.
