Job Description
This organisation is hiring an Associate / Senior Associate Quantity Surveyor to join their Colchester office and take commercial ownership of a varied portfolio of construction projects across East Anglia.
You'll work directly with their growing Colchester team on interesting, varied commissions, in a partnership that cares about you. They invest in their people, supporting APC candidates through to chartership and offer genuine progression within their expanding East Anglian practice.
The role:
Reporting to the Partners you'll manage projects from inception through to final account, handling both pre and post contract instructions.
Day-to-day, you'll be:
Preparing cost plans, feasibility estimates and order-of-cost estimates;
Advising on procurement routes and contract selection (JCT, NEC, and others);
Running tender processes, documentation, analysis, and recommendations;
Managing post-contract duties, valuations, change control, cashflow, final accounts, producing cost reports and advising clients on commercial strategy;
Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues;
Building lasting client relationships.
Requirements
Experience across commercial, residential, or infrastructure sectors
Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) accredited by the RICS;
MRICS, or actively working towards chartership via the APC;
Solid experience in UK construction at consultant or client-side;
Strong working knowledge of pre and post contract Quantity Surveying duties;
Familiarity with JCT and / or NEC contract suites;
Confident communicator who can hold their own with clients and design teams;
Full UK driving licence (project work spans the region);
Desire to work within a growing close-knit team.
