Job Description

This organisation is a leading UK construction project and cost management consultancy based in Birmingham, London and Bournemouth. Formed in 2013, it is committed to reducing risk in all matters relating to property, while creating a sustainable environment for future generations. The company currently employs a professional team that provides a full range of construction and property consultancy services, from project management and employer’s agent services to cost management, quantity surveying and due diligence.


This is rare opportunity to take lead on a major, landmark development valued at circa £250m. This mixed use development is located in The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. This is a typical client facing QS role and due to the size and complexity of the project will require presence on site, 2 or 3 days per week, with the remainder working from home.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Consult with clients to understand their requirements

  • Conduct feasibility studies to vet proposed projects

  • Calculate quantities and costs for materials, labour, timeframes

  • Prepare tender packages and contracts, including bills of quantities

  • Manage risk, value engineering and cost control measures

  • Analyse repair/maintenance costs

  • Negotiate contracts and schedules

  • Oversee and value subcontractors' work for payments

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and quality standards

  • Continually assess value for the client's investment

  • Analyse outcomes and provide budget/progress reports

  • Advise on claims, disputes and any contractual issues

  • Assist with securing project funding

  • Help initiate new construction projects

  • Business Development

Requirements

  • Relevant consultancy experience

  • Experience in residential (or similar) quantity surveying

  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Chartered Surveyors

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying
