Job Description
An excellent opportunity for an early career professional to become part of this organisations friendly and collaborative environment within the growing Sustainability team. Opportunities for growth and gaining new skills, working for high profile clients and working on exciting projects across various sectors, predominantly commercial, but also retail, residential, and industrial. This role will suit someone keen to establish themselves in a leading consultancy practice and support the growth of their team.
Their Sustainability team is based in their London office and works with predominantly commercial clients, via a wide range of disciplines to offer best in class sustainability advice. You will be part of a supportive team providing specialist resources for current instructions in London, the Southeast and regional locations.
They work across all the stages of a project life cycle offering sustainability services tailored to the needs of their clients, including strategic sustainability frameworks, sustainability co-ordination and specialist studies. These studies are broken down into three streams of services including Energy & Carbon, specialising in net zero roadmaps, Whole Life Carbon, specialising in Life Cycle Assessments (LCS) and Life Cycle Costings (LCC) and Certification, specialising in BREEAM, LEED, WELL and NABERS UK accreditation for buildings.

Key Relationships:
You will work directly with the Associate Director in the Energy and Carbon service line, but you will be part of the wider Sustainability team and work closely with colleagues in MEP, Project Management and other of their Service Lines.
You will be working with clients such as The Crown Estate, Derwent London, Grosvenor Britain and Ireland and British Land delivering on a mix of project work and strategic development frameworks ranging across speculative CAT A fit-out, new build offices, refurb fit-out for commercial buildings and residential developments.
Key Accountabilities:
Work in conjunction with the existing Engineering and Sustainability (E&S) team, reporting to the E&C Associate Director.
Support the technical delivery of LCA/LCC/WLC analysis and reporting. Assist with producing models, analyse the results, and propose solutions to reduce the upfront embodied and whole life carbon of projects.
Support the technical delivery of EPC, MEES and NZC pathway reporting. Assist with producing IES models (including compliance and TM54), report writing, communication and presentation of low carbon analysis and solutions to internal and external project teams to develop resource efficient/low carbon buildings.
Collaborate with the E&S hub’s MEP engineering team to identify and develop best practice. This is to include workflows as well as standard templates and documents.
Keep up to date with the latest development, research and policies on low carbon buildings and materials.
They encourage their team members to undertake CPD and in shaping the industry conversation and as such they support your participation in industry events, working groups, and attendance at networking opportunities.
Skills and Behaviour:
Useful skills, knowledge and experience
Master’s degree in sustainability related field desirable but not essential.
Experience within sustainability consultancy would be advantageous, but not necessary.
Knowledge of sustainable design themes, and UK policy frameworks and benchmarks.
A flexible approach to work with a willingness to travel.
Requirements
Have a good understanding of, and intertest in, sustainable development issues and low carbon design, and how they relate to the built environment.
Excel spreadsheet data extraction and analysis.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels and seniority (verbal and written).
Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
A building related degree, preferably engineering or architecture.
Ability to write clear and concise reports (training will be provided for specific reports).
Showing progression with respect to professional accreditation (e.g. Chartership), with aim of completion within 5 years (timescales to be agreed, noting full support to achieve).
